YSB is sponsoring the following Hot Topic parenting workshops from 7:00-8:30 p.m.in Hugo City Hall’s Oneka Room (14669 Fitzgerald Avenue N, Hugo).
- Tues., Jan. 22 “School Homework: Parents Survival Guide” Presenter: Huntington Learning Center
- Thurs., Feb. 7 “The Power of Failure: Why Kids Fail and What Parents can do to Change It” Presenter: Bob Downs, MS, LMFT, Youth and Family Therapist
- Thurs., Feb. 28 “Street Drugs: What’s Out There Today?”When is a highlighter not just a highlighter?” Presenters: Kelly McCarthy & Dale Hager, Lino Lakes Police Department
- Tues., March 11 “Teen Alcohol & Other Drug Use Prevention for Parents” Presenter: Jeff Glover, Anthony Lewis Treatment Center
For free admittance, register at least one day previous to the workshop. At the door registration cost is $5.00 or a food shelf donation.

TELEPHONE CONSULTATION
Parents may become overwhelmed and stressed because of a parenting issue or crisis and feel a need to talk to someone who is knowledgeable about child development and trained to deal with behavioral problems. Trained staff will respond to a phone call or walk-in consultation. There is no charge for this service.
LITERATURE RACK
Parenting materials are being disbursed through literature racks located in the lobby of Forest Lake City Hall and at the YSB office in Forest Lake.
Literature Racks include information on upcoming workshops, activities, programs, and parenting information for youth and families.
